Hacktoberfest 2018
As you know now the Octobers has started as the Hacktoberfest, a small kind of hackathon I can say already happening. This fest is organize by DigitalOcean along with the GitHub. Their mission is to give back to the open source community that had given us and many other companies so much. By participating this event you can get a limited edition t shirt and stickers. You only has to do is contributing to public github projects and make at least 5 pull requests. This event going on over the month of October that's why they call this Hacktoberfest. Therefore you have time until 31st of October.
If you’ve never contributed to an open source project before, you don’t have to miss out on all the fun—check out our contributing to open source guide.
Last year, 30,000+ people from over 100 countries (119 to be exact!) submitted almost 240,000 pull requests to all kinds of projects—everything from documentation tweaks and bug fixes, to new features and performance improvements. See their stories and (and selfies!) on Twitter with

Participation Rules
To get a shirt, you must make five pull requests (PRs) between October 1–31 in any timezone. PRs can be to any public repo on GitHub, not just the ones highlighted. The PR must contain commits you made yourself. PRs reported by maintainers as spam or that are automated will be marked as invalid and won’t count towards the shirt. This year, the first 50,000 of you can earn a T-shirt (compared with 30,000 in 2017).
In this link you can fine GitHub projects so you can find yours and starting to contribute.
